New Beginnings Empowerment Ministries' vision is one that serves the local body, but envisions a global view.  Throughout scripture, the Lord has used individuals to affect change within a community of people.  Through the use of sound Biblical instruction, Worship encounters with God, and practical teachings on vehicles to produce strength and empowerment in ones daily life, NBEM will accomplish its vision.

To state NBEM's vision in one simple phrase, or tagline, it would be stated as:

"Empowering People to Walk Into Their New Day"

However, to capture the complete essence of New Beginnings Empowerment Ministries' vision, our vision is state as such:

To build and empower a local body of believers composed of multiple cultures, and various social-economic backgrounds, to be a catalyst of change to a global community for the winning of the lost to Christ.

Professional Bio:

John W. Cooper, Jr. was born July 31, 1963 to the proud parents of John Sr. and Barbara Cooper in Columbus, Ohio.  At an early age, he was seen as an extraordinary child for his demeanor, compassion, and academic achievement, receiving honors and recognition for his prowess in scholastic excellence.

At the age of 6 years, Pastor Cooper recognized the demonstration of God’s supernatural power that operated through an Ohio Evangelist, and proceeded to ask God into his life. At this time of conversion, the Lord heard the very thoughts that Pastor Cooper spoke, then proceeded to

speak through the Evangelist that “In the days to come, 'Young John' would be a mighty instrument of the Lord, operating in similar demonstrations of God’s power.”  Since that day, Rev. Cooper’s life has never been the same.

During Pastor Cooper’s formative years as a youth, with the separation and ultimate divorce of his parents, God continued to grant favor.  At ten years of age, despite the trauma of his mother becoming physically and permanently disabled.  Despite this challenge he persevered, receiving accolades for his academic excellence, graduating from high school with honors.

With the challenges of a single parent home, limited income, and seemingly desperate times, John maintained his educational goals by receiving an Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering, Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration, and received a Doctorate of Divinity in May of 2006.

Pastor John Cooper’s professional and ministerial careers include a variety of talents and positions.  He has worked for International Business Machines (IBM) as a Software & Network Analyst, and is currently employed by American Electric Power (AEP) in Columbus, Ohio as an Information Technology Financial Analyst.

His ministerial activities have included serving as Youth Pastor, itinerate ministry and motivational speaker, teacher, evangelist, and Pastor.  He has served under the leadership of several of Columbus' most notable preachers to include Bishop Sherman Watkins of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, Bishop Brian Keith Williams of All Nations Church, and Pastors Ron and Jane Jolliff of Northside Community Church.  Currently, he serves under the pastoral guidance of Bishop Jeff Poole who pastors New Hope International in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Pastor John Cooper is the husband of Diana L. Cooper, his wife of 17 years, and is the father of twins, John III, and Jordyn.  Those who hear him expound the Word of God testify of his scholarly anointing and biblical exposition.
