Latest bulletinHow genuine is our faith?
Written by the Reverend Raymond Walters, Stone Squarer Ministries on 2/12/2009
For those of you who don’t know me, evangelism is a passion of mine, and I love to hear about methods and ideas that really work. Now just because something works in one location does not necessarily mean that it will be effective in another locale. The reason why results vary is due to the audience that we may be trying to reach. Another reason for difficulty can arise when we take a new method into a new cultural or demographis area.
The messenger themselves play an instrumental role. Do they know their audience? Do they know the language of the people? Have they studied the likes and dislikes of the community? Do they have a passion for reaching out to the unchurched? Some pastors can make evangelism complicated, and for some people it can be that way--- but I stongly suspect that Evangelism just takes plain old common sense.
Look at yourself as one of God’s messengers. Analyze your behavior and see if you are being a good witness in every aspect of your behavior.
We often forget that people outside the church want to see results. They are watching to see if you are behaving in a different manner. In other words, people outside the church are looking for tangible results in your life, results that prove that Christ is real, that Christ is alive, and that Christ is in this world. To be a faithful witness at all times, we must be prepared at all times and in all places---prepared to share the faith we proclaim.
1: Walk closely with Christ and maintain a consistent devotional life.
2: Be active in church and be a member that is standing on the promises, not just setting on the premises.
3: Attend worship, read/ study our Bibles on a regular basis.
If we are prepared to be a Christian witness and know the word of God, we can bring legitimacy to our everday life and interactions. Jesus sent out His disciples with a challenge to bring more and more people into the Kingdom. They were faithful. They were committed. They knew the Word. They were filled with the spirit of God, and they were willing. Are you a good witness and are you prepared?
In god’s love, be prepared to be a legitimate witness for the Kingdom of God and for your local church. stonesquarer Latest forumsThere are no forum posts yet.
