avatar Very informative show. I am disappointed that I was not able to listen live as
I would have liked to ask some questions. I did not know that about Planned
Parenthood - I used to go to them when I was in high school to get my birth
control shot. Needless to say - it didn't work for me as I got pregnant about 6
months after I started taking the shot. I can also relate to bishop and the
situation his mother had when she was pregnant with him. My mother told me to
get an abortion or get out also. I was 17 at the time and ended up living with
my child's father in his mother's house. With that being said - I agree with
Shawntay about stressing abstinence but I also think that we as a whole need to
do more. Parents need to stop trying to be FRIENDS and be PARENTS. Find out
where your kids are going, who they are going to be with, get cell phone
numbers, meet other parents and see what's going on in their homes before you
trust your child to go over and visit, find out what time they are coming home.
These are the types of things that will help us as a people and I believe that
when the children see that their own parents care - they will want to do better.
They will want to obey their parents and live right.

My 13 year old
daughter says I embarrass her because I go talk to her friends and their
parents. Before she is allowed to go with anyone - I need to know some
information. Before she can talk on the phone, I need to know who she is
talking to and what they are talking about. She needs to sit in the room with
me while she is talking. I need to know what she is listening to and how she
heard about it. I am not being nosey I am being a PARENT! and this is the
child God gave me and I need to protect her so that is what I am going to do.
With that said - we as PARENTS need to step it up - talk to your kids, ask
questions, tell th...

avatar tell them to fix their c
lothes, tell them if they look like they are about to
go sell themselves on the side of the road somewhere, tell them what you expect
and don't settle for less than that! While you are doing that - be PARENTS -
show them what you want them to do. Don't walk around with your pants hanging
down to your knees and expect your son not to do the same!

With that, I could
go on and on but I want to end by saying - talk to your kids. Find out what's
on their minds - what they heard in school, what their friends are doing and use
that as a starting point. Educate yourself so you can be a better asset to your
children as they are growing up. Study the Bible so that when you talk to them,
you have the word to fall back on.
