Proposition 8: Proposition 8 is a California State ballot proposition that would amend the state Constitution to restrict the definition of marriage to a union between a man and a woman.
It overturned a recent California Supreme Court decision that had recognized same-sex marriage in California as a fundamental right.

We will discuss the following as it relates to Prop 8:
  1. Civil marriage and Civil Rights
  2. Is a marriage between two people of the same sex equal to the marriage between a man and a woman?
  3. What about the children? How do gay/lesbian relationships affect children? How do you think it will affect children?
